Resistance, Enchantments and Healing
Intervention in public space

We invoke the forces of non-Eurocentric decolonial entities. We are artists who bring with us knowledge and narratives of resistance. As queer BIPOC artists from Latin America, we will bring in another perspective from outside of the Eurocentric definitions of the terms “witch” and “bitch.” We may contaminate the white queer feminist witch space, but to be clear, whiteness is not our focus. We are here to invoke the entities of our cosmologies so that we can finally see ourselves reflected. We are offering a magical gift to Vienna through our epistemic rebellion and spiritual graffiti, revolutionary hip hop, poetry, incantations and dance during street art gatherings for celebrating our existence and our artistic craft and mastery. We plan to occupy and decolonize the hyper-regulated Austrian public space by creating graffiti murals as homage. This work will be made in communication with BIPOC folks living in Vienna. The intention is to get out of the hegemonic museum and gallery space and enter a space of disobedience that is outside in the streets, through the creation of the altars of our entities of resistance. There will be a series of three events at three different locations in Vienna. The Brazilian artists Annie Ganzaga and Nenê Surreal, who represent two generations of important graffiti artists, will paint murals. Rap pioneer Luana Hansen will perform as well.
