    MALMOE

    Campaign, installation

MALMOE offers histotainment with a fear factor. Riding a ghost train through History's House of Horror in the Viennese Prater leads through the depths of Austria's past.

For years, the idea of a national museum has been wandering through the Republic of Austria. In 2018, it will be time – the new "House of History" will be opening up at the historically significant Heldenplatz ("Heroes' Square"). However, which history is actually being put into the limelight? Whose voices do we hear when national history is being told? In general, is there one national history? And: Hasn't national history always been scary?

MALMOE welcomes you to an extraordinary tour through history leading through the History's House of Horror. What location would be more appropriate for this than the Prater in Vienna? After all, this is the place where the Viennese once took pleasure in visiting "human zoos" and whose symbol, the Ferris wheel, was "aryanized" by them.

A path of adventure is followed, passing through several of contemporary history's fields of conflict that are preferably stood clear of and elsewhere avoided. Among the scary sounds, voices from the past can be heard, whose central figures become part of the ghost train as the undead. MALMOE brings into an eerie light that which is left out, repressed, and kept silent in schoolbooks and during state celebrations.

Details, the background and the making of History's House of Horror can be read in the accompanying edition of MALMOE. MALMOE promises all those with courage: Histotainment with a guaranteed fear factor!
