Give Way, Darling, Give Way!

Do you hear it? We already do. Pebbles won’t stop us! Eat our dust. GIVE WAY, DARLING, GIVE WAY! is a collaborative project of Moisturride and the artistic duo GORGON*URBAN. Together, we will demonstrate the power of the FLINTA skateboard community in Vienna. Through a collective city cruise with skateboards, roller and inline skates, and/or scooters we want to disrupt the public space and radically claim it. Our ride is a call to all women, inter, non-binary, trans, and agender people to unite and collectively reclaim space and be as loud as our hard wheels. Our invitation goes out to all skaters and to those who have always dreamed of rolling together but didn't have the courage yet. Now is the right time!

The ride will start at the city outskirts at Moisturride Kiosk, meander noisily through the inner city and end via Dr.-Karl-Lueger-Platz at Karlsplatz – a place which represents the politics of suppression and is also a place of political practice and collectivity. Together we want to explore the history of exclusions, political surveillance, and commercialization and address colonial, antisemitic and patriarchal symbolism, which can be found along the route. The ephemerality of physical presence is extended through temporary installations in those spaces and a zine presentation at the Kiosk. 

Don’t let the surveillance cams catch you! Improve your sk8 skills with a skate warm-up at the Moisturride Ramp and improve your incognito skills with a mask creation warm-up a few days before the collective ride!

Together, we show you who the streets belong to. Together, we are louder. Together, we are stronger. It's a festivity, a celebration ride through the city. Together, we exist here and we call for change. We are not few and we are not afraid to be loud.
