At the Migrationale numerous experts offer their expertise as a trade off. From consultation regarding official administrative processes all the way to bicycle repair — here, services can be offered by all those who have otherwise been refused access to the labor market.

During WIENWOCHE, the Brunnenpassage will be made into a barter market. At the Migrationale various people offer their expertise: From language training (in Arabic, German, Turkish and Spanish, among others) to consultation concerning public administration procedures all the way to bicycle repair — here, all types of services can be bartered. "Payment" is made with a fictitious currency ("migras").

At the Migrationale, people from all generations and origins are welcome that would like to try out the diverse range of offerings. People that have been excluded from the formal labor market and do not have sufficient access to informal job networks are active as barterers: Asylum seekers and migrants without papers, the unemployed and people that are in precarious life situations. The aim is, for the common good, to take advantage of the knowledge of people that live here but cannot work, thus making it visible: "We don't beg — we offer!"
The Migrationale is a creative trading place of alternative economic activities. Bartering makes social diversity visible and creates the opportunity to participate when work permits are denied or chances for wage labor cannot be expected any time soon. And last but not least: Bartering is enjoyable!

Additionally, the visitors to the Migrationale can expect a varied supporting program: Open rounds of discussion provide food for thought. The stage and children's program provides for entertainment aside the barter market. As a conclusion that is full of atmosphere, the Migrationale will be holding a party and welcomes everyone to dance.
