The page for the youngest and the creative among us. The scan of Mary Maggic’s sculpture made from found rubbish and bio-glue is not only detachable, but can also be colored in, designed and further artistically treated. Our booklet is sustainably printed - a limited edition, in degradable ink and material.

Like Mary, we combine artistic with activist. Children and “big kids” are invited to playfully deal with serious topics such
as sustainability, upcycling, but also production.

This image is part of a body of work called “Waste Archeology”, in which scavenged trash on the Greek island of Corfu is
fused together with a sticky, plant-based bioplastic. These alien objects, which live far beyond the average human lifespan, reflect on the theory of “storied matter” and its agential ability to start new lineages beyond anthropocentric timelines. What kinds of disobedient lifeforms will these alien objects become ancestors to?

Mary Maggic (b. 1991, Los Angeles) is a nonbinary Chinese-American artist and researcher working within the fuzzy intersections of body and gender politics and ecological alienations. Based in Vienna since 2017, Maggic frequently uses biohacking as a xeno-feminist practice of care that servestodemystifyinvisiblelinesofmolecular biopower. Maggic is a recipient of the 2022 Knight Arts + Tech Fellowship, and they are a current member of the online network Hackteria: Open Source Biological Art and the Asian feminist association Mai Ling.
