The Viennese Ballhausplatz has been known as a site central to European diplomacy and political turbulence for centuries. It is where the Vienna Congress was staged in 1814–a major historic event, aiming to establish a new political order in Europe. The project is conceived as an experimental form between theatre play and performance that sheds light on the history of diplomacy while questioning the logic of the modern world order, the exploration of  the historical settings for diplomacy and the related exchange of gifts. One such gift, presented by Tsar Alexander I to Chancellor Metternich in 1814, were the seeds of the Giant Hogweed—an invasive and poisonous plant originating from the Caucasus. 

This "gift" embodies the project's central metaphor: the hidden consequences of diplomacy, false hospitality, and the invasive spirit of political agreements that transcend their original context. 

The play incorporates symbolic elements such as the Giant Hogweed as a "flower of deception" and surreal interactions between historical figures and everyday objects taking various roles. Characters represent major European powers alongside satirical figures like the Giant Hogweed, an invisible jester who interrupts with memes and commentary, and a Ballhausplatz employee who sarcastically critiques bureaucracy.
